Prince Edward Island, Canada

The following excerpt is from P Monaghan (Est of J Jones) v. R Jones (Est of RE Jones), 2018 PESC 6 (CanLII):

The applicant has submitted several cases to advance her position. The first is Pecore v. Pecore 2007 SCC 17. This is a well known decision involving a joint bank and investment account where only one of the account holders deposited funds into the account. In this case a joint bank account was held by a father and daughter. The father placed all of the funds into the account. The daughter placed no funds into the account. At his death, the daughter claimed the balance in the accounts. The daughter’s former husband also claimed an interest.
