In Costello v. Newfoundland (Chief Provincial Firearms Officer), [1994] N.J. No. 422 (Nfld. Prov. Ct.) the reference applicant, Costello, was ruled eligible to possess firearms within sixteen months of being made subject to a peace bond because of domestic violence and within about two months of being convicted of an assault upon his estranged wife which seemingly occurred about sixteen months earlier.
