Does an insurer have to make a meaning on words like motor vehicle and motor vehicle registration?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Red River Valley Mutual Insurance Co. v. Rockola, 1993 CanLII 15043 (MB QB):

Counsel for the intervenor submits that if an insurer intends to place a meaning on words like "motor vehicle" and "motor vehicle registration" other than those con tained in the statutory schemes dealing with the registration and insurance of self pro pelled motorized vehicles, it should make it abundantly clear in the policy, and if it fails to do so. In support of this, he cites Laurence v. Davies, [1972] 2 Lloyd's Law Reports 231.
