Referring to Mission Institution v. Khela, 2014 SCC 24, the judge noted that provincial superior courts can grant certiorari in aid of habeas corpus. He then entertained the possibility of a combination of remedies, such as habeas corpus with mandamus in aid, and postulated that such remedies might be available. He concluded, however, that such a combination of remedies was not available in this case:
