In what circumstances will a stalking victim be able to obtain a protection order?

Manitoba, Canada

The following excerpt is from Roberts v. Buzan, 2009 MBQB 5 (CanLII):

In Baril v. Obelnicki, 2007 MBCA 40, Steel J.A. made the following observation in ¶10: 10 … To obtain a protection order, the applicant had to show, on a balance of probabilities, that the respondent was stalking her. And at ¶12: 12 The definition itself requires that the conduct be repetitive and that the fear experienced by the applicant be objectively reasonable in all the circumstances. (emphasis added)
