How have the courts considered the issue of causation in a case similar to the one at bar?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Canada Trust Co. v. Sorkos, 1992 CanLII 8590 (ON SCDC):

In Cameras v. Levy, supra, the court considered the issue of causation in a case similar to the one at bar. In finding office accommodations for the plaintiffs the defendant's estate agent misrepresented the area of the leased premises. The plaintiffs succeeded in proving, but for the misrepresentation, they would have rejected the lease.
