Is Laichkwiltach liable for costs on both causes of action for the period prior to August 29, 2005?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Laichkwiltach Enterprises Ltd. v. F/V Pacific Faith (Ship), 2008 BCSC 282 (CanLII):

In the result, Laichkwiltach will recover the plaintiffs’ costs on both causes of action from the defendants for the period prior to August 29, 2005, and the defendants will recover their costs on both causes of action from Laichkwiltach for the period following August 29, 2005. Recalling the principle from Martin v. British Columbia that unnamed plaintiffs in representative actions are not liable for costs, the defendants' claim for costs is against Laichkwiltach alone.
