When a parent works a variable shift, how much time does the respondent father have to spend with the children who attend school?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Fidyk v Hutchison, 2013 SKQB 27 (CanLII):

In Jarocki v. Rice, supra, the court took the same approach to the issue of time spent in school. The primary residence of the children was with the petitioner mother, who worked variable shifts. The court calculated that the respondent father parented the children 37% of the total nights in the year, and 35% of the total hours in the year, based on the time the children actually spent with the respondent. The respondent submitted that he should be credited with one-half of the time the children spent at school on the days the petitioner worked a day shift, as he then had the children after school.
