Is there sufficient evidence to support a finding that defendant Luis Lopez intended to inflict grievous bodily harm with intent?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Lopez, B287916 (Cal. App. 2019):

intend to inflict great bodily injury. Moreover, Lopez made his intent plain when he told police, "I meant to do [the victim] bad." Sufficient evidence supports the trial court's finding that Lopez intended to inflict great bodily injury. (See People v. Phillips, supra, 208 Cal.App.3d at p. 1124.)

The order is affirmed.
