Is there insufficient evidence to support imposition of a criminal justice administration fee?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Mast, H035034, No. CC783596 (Cal. App. 2010):

Defendant asserts that there was insufficient evidence to support imposition of the criminal justice administration fee. In considering this claim, "we examine the entire record on the light most favorable to the [court's order] to determine whether it contains substantial evidence that is, evidence that is reasonable, credible, and of solid value that would support a rational trier of fact in finding" that defendant had the ability to pay the criminal justice administration fee.
