Is there any abuse of discretion in sentencing of a convicted burglar?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from The People v. Bar, B218889, No. SA070120 (Cal. App. 2010):

Bar contends the trial court erred by imposing the maximum six-year term for the burglary conviction because it was inconsistent with the court's stated intent to show him leniency, as evidenced by its comments when dismissing two strikes. We review sentencing decisions for an abuse of discretion. (People v. Carmony (2004) 33 Cal.4th 367, 376-377.) "[A] trial court does not abuse its discretion unless its decision is so irrational or arbitrary that no reasonable person could agree with it." (Ibid.) We see no abuse of discretion.
