8. There is some difference among the parties as to whether the attorneys' fees question is governed by state or federal law. We need not decide the question, however, because our analysis would not change. Under both federal and New York law, courts are permitted to review contingent fees for excessiveness. Compare Lawrence v. Miller, 11 N.Y.3d 588, 596 (2008), with In re Agent Orange, 818 F.2d at 240.
