The fact the search of the parcel was not made contemporaneously with the arrest also is not controlling. In the recent case of United States v. Johns (1985) 469 U.S. 478, 105 S.Ct. 881, 83 L.Ed.2d 890, a warrantless search occurring three days after the packages of marijuana were seized from defendants' pickup trucks was held to be reasonable.
