Is a mechanic's lien foreclosure a cause of action in contract?

Jackson v. County of Los Angeles (1997) 60 Cal.App.4th 171, 176177, 183191, 70 Cal.Rptr.2d 96 [plaintiff in Americans with Disabilities Act case estopped from arguing that he was a qualified individual with a disability who could perform the essential duties of police officer, after stipulating in workers' compensation case that he was unable to work in that position].) We conclude a mechanic's lien foreclosure action is sufficiently like a contract action to be considered a "cause of action in contract" for purposes of section 3287(b).
