Having concluded that the trial court erred by failing to comply with the provisions of section 1093, subdivision (f), we are left to determine whether that error was prejudicial in the sense that it requires redress by this court. [14 Cal.App.4th 1399] This issue was recently addressed in People v. Blakley (1992) 6 Cal.App.4th 1019, 8 Cal.Rptr.2d 219:
