Defendant argues the "booking exception" addressed in Pennsylvania v. Muniz (1990) 496 U.S. 582, does not apply here because he was not being booked, and, since there is no dispute that he was actually in custody when he was questioned about his name, he should have been read his rights before being questioned. However, the officer asking defendant for his true name was conduct reasonably related to police administrative procedures.
