What is the role of the court on an interim application for support?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Rezai v Gibbons, 2015 ONSC 6753 (CanLII):

The role of the court on an interim application for support is a limited one. The court will not embark on an in depth analysis of standing or entitlement, which is better left to trial. The moving party is only required to make out a reasonable case for standing and entitlement before the court will proceed to assess the parties’ means and needs (Spence v. Sly [2010] O.J. No. 472` (S.C.J.) at para 11).
