The expectations of parties in a relationship are rarely express. Intention is thus determined by their conduct. See: Pettkus v. Becker, at para. 22.
In this regard, in Peter v. Beblow, at para. 16, McLachlan J. held that a common law spouse generally owes no duty to perform work or provide services for her partner.
