One right of a loss payee is described in Mitchell v. City of London Assur. Co. (1888) 15 OAR 262, at 273, affirming 12 OR 706, as, “a lien on the insurance money to the extent of his interest when the money in the defendants’ [insurers’] hands becomes applicable to the payment of the loss, * * * .”
