In what circumstances will a prosecutor be admonished for making a false claim?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Boyd, A142471 (Cal. App. 2016):

(See People v. Centeno, supra, 60 Cal.4th at p. 674 ["prosecutor's misstatements of law are generally curable by an admonition from the court"]; People v. Najera (2006) 138 Cal.App.4th 212, 224.)4 Because the alleged error was to one point only and not pervasive throughout the prosecutor's argument, it was susceptible to being cured. What is more, there is nothing to suggest that the trial court would not have given an admonition if one had been requested. In fact, the trial court readily sustained defense counsel's objection to the statement.
