In Hu v. Tan, 2016 BCSC 908, a 38-year-old woman was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and sustained a soft tissue injury that caused ongoing neck, shoulder and back pain with migraine headaches. She was in pain most days of the week. Madam Justice Burke found that the plaintiff was a determined and stoic individual who persisted in her work despite chronic pain.
