How have the courts dealt with the issue of custody and custody issues in a motion of motion of the same name?

Alberta, Canada

The following excerpt is from Hunka v. Hunka, 1991 CanLII 6208 (AB QB):

Côté J.A. (orally): – The first issue in this motion of August 23 in Hunka v. Hunka is this: the two parties agreed that I should appoint Dr. Hindmarch to do a study of custody and give a report. He is the only person being retained to do that. I have so ordered. One side or maybe both sides have given Dr. Hindmarch some information, and there is a dispute as to whether that information should be provided to the other side; presumably, the information contained some matters of a substantive nature.
