The following excerpt is from People v. Coleman, 139 Cal.Rptr. 908, 72 Cal.App.3d 287 (Cal. App. 1977):
[72 Cal.App.3d 316] In the case of People v. Pacheco, supra, 27 Cal.App.3d 70, 103 Cal.Rptr. 583, also cited in the majority opinion, defendant was convicted, following a jury trial, of possession of marijuana, barbiturates and methamphetamine. One of the grounds on which defendant appealed was that the court erred in failing to order disclosure of the identity of an informer. Defendant contended that he did not reside in the apartment in which he was arrested and the contraband found, did not know it contained contraband, and there were numerous other people in the apartment to which it could have belonged.
