10. In People v. McCullough, supra, 100 Cal.App.3d at pages 180-181, as in the present case, the court's responses to a juror's questions about reasonable doubt also included "[y]ou have to understand that you must decide the case on the basis of the evidence presented here in the courtroom, and not on the basis of any guesswork or speculationbut only on the evidence presented by either side here in the courtroom." The juror then asked, "So then the doubt must arise from evidence?" and the court answered, "yes." (Id. at p. 181.)
