What is the test for apportioning property between a husband and wife in a marriage where the wife's inheritance was acquired during the marriage, and only the wife contributed to the expense and upkeep of the property?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Murphy v. Murphy, 2007 BCSC 870 (CanLII):

Hofer v. Hofer involved an 8-year marriage, where the property in issue had been acquired during the marriage, entirely with funds from the wife’s inheritance. After separation, only the wife contributed to the expense and upkeep of the property, and also shouldered responsibility for substantial family debts. She had a greater need for funds to become self-sufficient. The court reapportioned the property 85% in favour of the wife.
