Is there any case law in which a plaintiff can claim damages for damages arising out of a natural occurrence?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Oliver v. Ellison, 2001 BCCA 359 (CanLII):

In principle, why not? The rule in Hadley v. Baxendale (1854), 9 Exch. 341, 156 E.R. 145, limits damages to what can be said to arise naturally, i.e. according to the usual course of things, or to be in the contemplation of the parties.
