If consent is not dispensed with, what is the effect of having two fathers?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Sopatyk, Re, 1992 CanLII 8046 (SK QB):

For his part, Fischer says that if consent is not dispensed with he will still have only access to the child and that she will be no worse off for having two "fathers" who care for her. It is true that the child's right to inherit should Fischer die intestate would be lost. (Oliphant v. Wickson et al., (1990), 1990 CanLII 7630 (SK QB), 84 Sask.R. 44.) This seems a small matter. He can provide for her in his will if he wishes to do so.
