Can a relationship between a custodial parent and a stepson be included in the ground of family status?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from McGrath and Fox v. B.C. (Min. of Children and Family Development), 2006 BCHRT 484 (CanLII):

In Watkins v. Cypihot, 2000 BCHRT 13, a stepmother/stepsons relationship was found to be included in the ground of family status. In my view, the relationship between a custodial parent (who stands in the place of the parent) and a child in custody can be included in family status.
