Can an appeal from a family law arbitral award be based on errors of law and mixed fact and law?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from J.E.A. v V.J.A, 2022 BCSC 171 (CanLII):

Of significance, s. 31(3.1) permits appeals from family law arbitral awards only on errors of law and errors of mixed fact and law. Appeals from questions of fact arising from the arbitration are thus precluded (McMillan v. McMillan, 2015 BCSC 2177, at para. 53).
