Is it appropriate to dismiss a store manager who purchased large items without recording the purchases?

Saskatchewan, Canada

The following excerpt is from Wankling v. Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association et al., 1989 CanLII 4625 (SK QB):

Hrabinsky, J., in Eskelson v. Demaine Co-op (1984), 1984 CanLII 2452 (SK QB), 37 Sask. R. 12, found that the Co-op was justified in dismissing the store manager who had purchased large items from the store without recording them and then lied about the purchases. The full extent of her dishonesty had only become known after her dismissal.
