Whether the district court correctly construed the hearsay rule is a question of law that we review de novo. United States v. Collicott, 92 F.3d 973, 978 (9th Cir.1996). We review a district court's decision to admit evidence under a hearsay exception and its decision to grant or deny a deposition under Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 15(a) for abuse of discretion.
