Does the Attorney General have grounds to appeal against the Court of Appeal's finding that a defendant has a reasonable doubt in the mind of one juror?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Reardon, 237 Cal.Rptr.3d 347, 26 Cal.App.5th 727 (Cal. App. 2018):

7 The Attorney General does not argue that a ground not articulated by the trial court supports the ruling (cf. Schabarum v. California Legislature (1998) 60 Cal.App.4th 1205, 1216-1217, 70 Cal.Rptr.2d 745 ) and we see no such ground.

8 In fact, a defendant need only raise a reasonable doubt in the mind of one juror to either escape liability or put the People to the burden of retrying the case, a more favorable outcome than a conviction. (See People v. Soojian (2010) 190 Cal.App.4th 491, 521, 118 Cal.Rptr.3d 435.)
