7 In a 2010 enactment that took effect January 1, 2012, "former [Penal Code] section 12020 [citation], prohibiting possession of a wide variety of weapons, was repealed and recodified in a nonsubstantive reorganization which divided former [Penal Code] section 12020 into new numbered sections."
