Does a supervising judge's finding of necessity not contravene section 629.52, subdivision (d) of the Fourth Amendment or Fourth Amendment?

California, United States of America

The following excerpt is from People v. Roberts, 109 Cal.Rptr.3d 736, 184 Cal.App.4th 1149 (Cal. App. 2010):

The record supports the trial court's conclusion that the supervising judge's finding of necessity did not contravene the Fourth Amendment or section 629.52, subdivision (d). The task force's goal was to identify members of a suspected drug conspiracy, the organization's drug sources and means of delivery, and participants. (See United States v. Zapata (10th Cir.2008) 546 F.3d 1179, 1186-1188.) Purchasing drugs from Pettis was not the sole purpose of the investigation.
