The following excerpt is from United States v. Norris, 942 F.3d 902 (9th Cir. 2019):

and one who owns or lawfully possesses or controls property will in all likelihood have a legitimate expectation of privacy." (citation omitted). Conversely, one has no legitimate expectation of privacy in property for which he lacks any possessory or ownership interest. See United States v. Wong , 334 F.3d 831, 839 (9th Cir. 2003).
