[35 Cal.App.3d 942] In Smith v. Illinois (1968) 390 U.S. 129, 131, 88 S.Ct. 748, 750, 19 L.Ed.2d 956, the court held that the denial of the right to cross-examine a testifying informer concerning his true name and address constituted a denial of due process where the only real question at trial was the relative credibility of the prosecution witnesses and the defendant.
