What considerations will the court consider when deciding a separation under the Family Law Act?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from FMJ v HKJ, 2020 BCSC 1926 (CanLII):

In addition to those Family Law Act principles, cases such as Kowalchuk v. Dass, 2016 BCSC 1857 at para. 37 confirm that considerations in cases decided under the Divorce Act, RSC 1985, c 3 (2nd Supp) may also guide the court. These considerations include the desirability of maintaining maximum contact with each parent, and the disruption to the child’s life from removal from her community.
