In Dhillon v. Virk 2014 BCSC 745 (“Dhillon”) a plaintiff brought an application for an adjournment, mid trial, despite previous rulings denying adjournment requests. The plaintiff produced a doctor’s note stating he was suffering from an acute stress reaction with severe anxiety and dyspepsia. The doctor recommended the plaintiff should avoid stressful situations.
