What is the definition of a claim for personal injury in a personal injury action?

Nova Scotia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Canus v. Canada Customs, 2005 NSSC 283 (CanLII):

In my view, this is an incorrect characterization of the claim. In para. 36 of Cooper v. Hobart, Major, J. referred to an act which “causes physical harm to the plaintiff or the plaintiff’s property” (my emphasis). This is not a claim for physical injury.
