The following excerpt is from Connell (Guardian of) v. Dyck, 1998 CanLII 3670 (BC SC):

In Coolen v. Sonmor (unreported) 1975 Vancouver Registry No. 8862/71, (B.C.S.C.) a 12-year old who was one of a group of three riding slowly and talking to each other on "almost a country road", not heavily used. The court speculated that the child may have swerved somewhat while pedalling slowly "to gain balance, or for some other reason".
