Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

The following excerpt is from Quigley-McKay v McKay, 2020 NLCA 26 (CanLII):

Any portion of a personal injury award relating to compensation for economic loss is regarded as a matrimonial asset. When such an issue is raised an inquiry is required to determine whether there is compensation for economic loss. An example of an approach to this issue is found in Stanley v. Stanley, 2011 NLTD(G) 4, 303 Nfld. & P.E.I.R. 262.
