In Jawanda v. Dhaliwal, [1993] B.C.J. No. 1985 (B.C.S.C.) Melvin J. held that an order for the payment of child maintenance is a judgment within the meaning of these sections. Melvin J. also held in Singbeil v. Singbeil (1993), B.C.J. No. 1003 (B.C.S.C.) a claim for arrears of child maintenance exceeding the 10 year limitation period was to be abandoned.
