In Ordonez v. Ordonez, 2006 BCSC 1130 at para. 27, the court took into account the following factors in determining which form of custody best met the interests of the child: (a) the ability of the parents to communicate; (b) ability of each parent to make appropriate decisions and to follow through on the decision; (c) the amount of time the child will spend with each parent; (d) the geographic distance between the parents' residences; (e) the parental behaviours in the past which could impair [the child's] relationship to the other parent; and (f) the effect a specific court order may have on reducing or eliminating the differences in parenting attitudes that could adversely impact on the child.
