The following excerpt is from People v. Yates, E052576, Super.Ct.No. RIF145400 (Cal. App. 2011):
did not believe an objection would have altered the outcome. "Counsel does not render ineffective assistance by failing to make motions or objections that counsel reasonably determines would be futile." (People v. Price (1991) 1 Cal.4th 324, 387.) Nor has defendant shown the results of the proceeding would have been different if counsel had objected to the challenged fines.
The judgment is affirmed.
