Can a plaintiff bring a claim for money against a governmental entity for personal injury, death, or damage to personal property or crops?

No suit for money may be brought against a governmental entity for personal injury, death, or damage to personal property or crops unless a formal claim has been presented to such entity and the claim has been rejected. ( 945.4;⁷ see Munoz v. State of California (1995) 33 Cal.App.4th 1767, 1776 (Munoz).) The claim must be presented to the governmental entity "not later than six months after the accrual of the cause of action." ( 911.2, subd. (a),⁸ 915, subd. (a);⁹ Munoz, supra, 33 Cal.App.4th at p. 1779.)
