In civil cases, the rule remains that particular wrongful acts or instances of untruthfulness cannot be used to prove bad character of the witness for honesty or veracity ( 787; Hernandez v. Paicius (2003) 109 Cal.App.4th 452, 460), except where there has been a felony conviction. ( 788.)
