What are the exceptions to the general approach of Justice Major to the principle of "double recovery"?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Pinder v. Pinder, 2010 BCCA 235 (CanLII):

There being no basis, in my view, for consideration of the double recovery problem discussed in Boston v. Boston, there is no need to consider the exceptions discussed by Justice Major to the general approach he advocated. However were I required to address the exception, I would have said need in this case would moderate the strict application of the principle.
