Does a full indemnity order need to be ordered between opposing litigants?

British Columbia, Canada

The following excerpt is from Bush Estate, 1995 CanLII 421 (BC SC):

36 The reference to Basran v. Basran and its principle referred to therein is of import in the circumstance of this case. In a true battle between opposing litigants, each having vested interests and with self-interest being litigated, it would be wrong to order full indemnity to be ordered between opposing litigants.
