The defendant does not dispute that as a general rule, "character evidence is inadmissible [in civil cases] solely to prove or disprove that a party is or is not the sort of person who would commit or not commit the alleged act or omission or to bolster their credibility": Austin v. Lynch, 2016 BCSC 1344 at para. 45.
