What is the test for trustworthiness and trustworthiness of a social worker in a sexual assault case?

Ontario, Canada

The following excerpt is from Re K.R. (An Infant), 1983 CanLII 2625 (ON CJ):

[17] The applicant society submits that both of the criteria to be extracted from Ares v. Venner are present in this case. It is necessary to hear the allegations through the worker because the child may not be a competent witness or may be unable to remember the events in question. This also alleviates the very great hardship and potential damage caused to a child who is asked to testify against her parent. Trustworthiness is found in the fact that the worker would have no reason to mislead the court and in the fact that the society is proposing to call several persons who, it is said, will testify that the child made consistent statements on different occasions to various adults.
